Alpha Kids (Born in 2013 – till date): Future is them
“Alpha” – the youngest generation currently growing up who are on track to be the most technologically immersed and diverse generation till date. They are likely to be the first to grow up entirely in a world with artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), and possibly even fully autonomous systems.
Technologically Pro
They experience which no other generation has before- AI. A world dominated by AI, robotics, and highly immersive experiences like VR (Virtual Reality). From a young age, many Alpha children are already familiar with voice-activated devices like Alexa and Siri. Digital devices are a natural extension of their world, and they will likely learn coding and other digital skills as easily as they learn to read and write.
Everything and every where they go is digitalised. The classroom is increasingly digital, with online learning and interactive apps replacing traditional textbooks. Kids today are less likely to pick up a book than their predecessors, but this does not mean they are less informed—on the contrary, they may know more, thanks to the immediacy of digital information.
Parenting Style:
Alpha kids are raised by Millennial parents who are highly invested in their children’s education and overall well-being. While technology is an integral part of their lives, Millennial parents are also more conscious of limiting screen time and planning hands-on, creative experiences. From playdates to educational video games, Alpha children are encouraged to explore their creativity through both physical and digital means.
Challenges:
For Alpha, the biggest concerns are environmental sustainability, a rapidly changing job market, and adapting to a world where AI may reshape nearly every industry. Climate change, in particular, is a pressing issue, and many Alpha kids are already vocal about their concerns for the future. Each alpha kid worries of the fuftue of their birth place. The challenge for them will be finding ways to balance the opportunities technology brings with the need for genuine human connection and environmental responsibility.
