Whole Wheat Pancakes for kids

Who doesn’t loves pancakes? The kids in the house, the elders and the mommy love it too. This healthy whole wheat pancake recipe is going to be a superhit meal whether it’s for pancakes for breakfast or healthy snacking.

Let’s begin making some fluffy whole wheat pancakes that are full of fibre and the nutrition of whole grains.

Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar (use jaggery instead for the iron content)
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 eggs (Use 2 cups buttermilk if vegetarian)

Ready in two simple steps:

Combine and whisk all the dry ingredients in a big bowl. Take another bowl to beat eggs, buttermilk , banana and butter and whisk till fluffy. Pour the mixture into dry ingredients and slowly mix.

Heat the pan on medium heat and pour the batter with a ladle. Do not overspread as the pancake should be fluffy. Flip on the other side as you see bubbles appearing. Cook on both sides for about two to three minutes.

Your pancakes are ready to be enjoyed hot. Top your whole wheat pancakes with bananas, nutella or gems or just the way your child loves. Make it look pretty by adding fruits in different shapes that add up to give the pancakes a cute face.
